Interview
In construction, we often push projects forward under pressure. Tight budgets, deadlines, endless documents, it’s no surprise people feel the weight. But does it have to be this way?
We spoke with Rachael Keeble (FAPM, MCIOB) founder of BuiltWell Project Management. With more than 15 years in the field, her mission is simple: project success without stress. It’s a principle she’s built into her training and advisory work with project teams across the industry.
What I’ve learned after 15 years in projects
-By Rachael Keeble
One thing I’ve learned is that clear frameworks really do change outcomes. Without them, details slip and people lose track of what’s agreed. With them, teams have confidence and projects are far more likely to hit their goals.
I’ve also seen how collaboration becomes a safety measure in itself. The Grenfell Tower Inquiry showed what happens when no one asks the hard questions. As project managers, we may not choose every material, but we should still be asking: “Is this the best option for the building and the people who’ll live in it?” When teams interrogate decisions together, they build safer, longer-lasting projects.
And finally, responsible building is no longer optional. From fire safety to sustainability, regulations across the UK, Europe, the US and the Middle East are setting higher standards. Every professional involved in a project now carries part of the responsibility for its long-term performance and safety.

What we’re still up against in 2025
Construction is still facing some tough realities:
Procurement delays. Large projects often see contract awards pushed back by months, holding up site work and increasing risk before a shovel hits the ground.
Misaligned expectations. Poorly defined scopes and hidden assumptions are still one of the biggest reasons projects stall or drift off course.
Change and variation. Global research estimates more than $1.6 trillion is lost each year through inefficiencies, rework and cost overruns.
The human toll. Almost all professionals surveyed in recent years report stress at work. For project managers, the weight of deadlines, safety, and budgets makes burnout a constant risk.
How the right tools take the pressure off
Rachael believes people (not software) deliver successful projects. But the right tools can take pressure off.
This is where TruBuild comes in. Our AI is trained for construction procurement, taking care of time-consuming tender evaluations and contract checks. Results from pilot projects show:
72% faster evaluations
50% fewer staff hours needed for processing
100% traceability of every decision
That means project leaders spend less time buried in spreadsheets and more time doing what matters: leading teams, asking questions, and keeping projects safe and on track.
The right people, combined with the right tools and the right training, result in time saving, increased accuracy, and risk management that helps rather than hinders our projects.
Something to think about
What would change if every project team worked with both the clarity of a strong framework and the speed of AI support?
Perhaps project success without stress wouldn’t just be a mission. It could be the new standard.
